PHPBB integration.

Well, I've been playing with trying to get the two to play together. Since I'm no coder, I'm having no luck. I did find a class file that is supposed to let you login on your own site and it will log you in to PHPBB. I just can't figure this out. Where to put the call for the class in the login.php file for pligg. If anyone is interested in trying to get this to work and knows more than me about the code for pligg, I would apreciate the help. I'm running it on a local server using easyPHP and am having some fun. I want to make it work before I throw it on my live site.

Anyways, the class file can be found Here. I've got the latest pligg and the latest PHPbb. This class file is supposed to work with any cms software, you just have to add the call in the right place.

Thanks.

OK, I see no takers, well I'l make it easier. Here are the two files that are in the PHPBB login integration class. The one is an examples file, It just shows you examples of where you might put the calls. Thats my problem, no-matter where I put them it doesn't work. Being I don't know PHP and am just a code hacker (trial and error) I'm sure there is someone here who could get it working without too much trouble.

Please just take a look and see if this login file could work with pligg and phpbb. It may be that the calls are too different than pligg's calls to make it work, but maybe not.

I just read that post and then read this one. Thanks for posting it in this thread. I will play with thier hack when I get a chance. I know it carries over user login, now I'll have to see if it integrates in the site, rather than opening on it's own. You know what I mean. Where the top menu and maybe the side menu are wrapped around the forum. We'll see what happens.

Thanks again.

Well, I played with this little login file, but not knowing PHP more than just a hack or two, I couldn't get it to work. Thats why I was asking for some-one to look at it and see if it was even close to something that might work.

I also tryed the patch/hack that was posted in the other thread. I played with it for days thinking it was the answer. I'm not sure if he forgot something when he posted it or if there is some special way to install pligg and phpbb that gets them to play together. I already have pligg installed and running and then I installed phpbb after. So maybe thats why it didn't work, because I already had the pligg database populated. It seems like this should work and not be that hard, but since I'm a total noob at PHP, I couldn't figure it out.

Sorry, but I gave up after an hour or so. It was getting way too complicated and I think other things are more important right now. From the looks of it, I don't think that class is going to combine pligg and phpbb with only a few lines of code. From what I was messing around with I think the database needs to be changed for one of them to talk to the other.
