"Share your creative modifications to the Pligg code."

I thought this was the appropriate place. If it's not, I apologize.

I am not soliciting sales... I don't know how to make this more clear.

I've been more than willing to descibe this to those who were interested.

This is definitely NOT a "cheesy affiliate program"

........ what is going on here is not cool. I've been a member here for a fairly long time, and have not abused this forum. I haven't spammed anyone. I am simply a pligg user who wanted to share a service with A FEW OTHERS, FREE, IN EXCHANGE FOR FEEDBACK.

Believe me I'm not one to take away anyone's thunder but the original post does come off as fishy. You could have easily described the service and been up front about the pricing involved without giving away any company secrets. For all we know this could be a cheesy affiliate program. We take this stuff seriously.

Like I said. The site is clearly a business. If you wish to offer services to pligg users you should have posted it under the commercial modules forum . You sort of answered your own question. "Share your creative modifications to the Pligg code." Because in reality you are not sharing anything but only to a select few. I understand you don't want to give out the domain name, that's not the point. The point is you started a thread in an area for people to share code. Basically you are sharing invitations to a paid service. This is totally inappropriate for this for forum If you like I would be happy to allow you to create a new thread under the commercial modules forums as long as you provide more details, possibly a screenshot or two, and admit that it is intended as a commercial service. I would then be happy to remove this thread. I know you have been a member here for over a year. This is why I am giving you a chance to explain your product. It all comes down to the way you originally presented it. It could have been thought out a bit better.

I understand your reasoning for saying this should have been posted in the commercial modules forum, however this isn't a module. When used, it is a simple code modification in link_summary.tpl, simply replacing the default websnapr.com image url.

I would be happy to write a more descriptive post about the service and define more information about how it works. And put it where you feel is appropriate.

Couple things I would like to try and make more clear...

The site offers a FREE account, with FREE standard thumbs which costs nothing. Credits can be purchased to enable advanced features (which consume resources). It is completely optional to purchase credits.

All I wanted to do was have a few people try the service to get feedback before the site is launched. I was offering a bunch of credits so that they didn't need to purchase anything. And if you noticed, when signing up, you get 10,000 free credits... this is what we're about... this is why the service was developed... to offer a service that didn't require a monthly fee, didn't force anyone to spend money, and we give tons of credits away...

Anyhow, it is true that if I were to sit here and write a bunch about it (which is already on the site), then this probably wouldnt have turned out this way. So I would like to take you up on the new thread and removing this one... as it's totally gone the wrong direction.

Please PM me as I would like to speak to you about this.

Thank you
