Adding field to add URL for post images in the Submit section

I am looking for a mod or tutorial on how to add a field in the new article submission area where someone can post an image URL from an external site and automatically convert the image into a thumbnail and, save it on my server, and post it to the post. I have seen this in several pligg based sites and I know that it can be done.

Is there a way that I can post an image instead of that static thumbnail that is posted with the links?

I am also looking to have a drop down menu in the submission area where I can have a pulldown with sizes on them...like XL, L, SM , XSM . I am trying to develop a pligg site that is deal's clothing based site and I would like to post an image of the article of clothing and the sizes available.

I'm currently in the works of doing something similar, and right now, the best I can do is point you to some stuff here on the forums.

http://www.pligg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2443 - This thread here does give some good quick pointers on the moving and thumbnailing code. Theoretically it should work by setting the source as the url entered, and starting from there. Not really much of a tutorial, but if you have some coding skills, its better than nothing. When I get things working on my site, I'll make the changes available, since others seem to want to do similar things, plus its always nice to help the community that has helped me.

Anyone accomplish this yet? I would like to either have a place to enter an image URL or upload from a computer ???
