I'm assuming it's because one of the feeds has HTML embedded in the feed. Maybe take a look at MagpieRSS to see why it is not able to read those parameters.

Wow, sounds like everyone had the same idea. I've been working on this for a while and have a site up at http://www.newspicker.net/

It's still early in development, but I have a cron job syndicating content from about 30 different RSS feeds right now.

Your mod works great. Would you know how to make a script or add something to your current script that detects all mp3 links in a post (or just one's in an enclosure) and displays them in a list in the body of the post at the end? Kinda like at http://hype.non-standard.net/posts/5/

If you could help me do this I would really appreciate it, Thanks!

We are going to get news from about 200+ rss feeds so I am currently working on dwg's script to allow multiple rss feeds without having to run multiple php files. It's slow going though so if anyone else wants to take a crack at it be my guest. I just moved into my new house so I won't be able to work on it for a while.

I plan on using a variable for each feed and then javascript to refresh the php for each feed so it will not time out if you have a bunch of feeds to process.

I've been waiting for this code. I second the request so I can try it too.

Cheers,

You can already have mulitple rss feeds in the script, just add a new array to the $rss_feeds array.

But when you start processing 50+ rss feeds you start running into timeout issues so I think this a "reload" javascript function would work better. It also make the script available to pligg admins who do not have access to cron. I'm working on a "javascript trigger" for the Pligg front page that will auto start the script if it has not been run in a certain amount of time.

The script I am working on will read a simple text file for each php script with one rss feed on each line so you do not have to edit the php and add a new array each time you want to add a new feed.

I'm also working on reporting so you can view in the pligg admin area if any of your rss feeds stop working and edit the text file to add / remove feeeds with a web interface.

The idea all started with your code though and of course you will receive credit and I thank you for sharing it.
