Documents about developing modules

Excuse me, I am a newbie to Pligg.

I was wondering, is there any document about developing modules?

i'm a new pligg user myself. i don't think there are documentation on developing modules. however, as for someone who wrote 2 of them all i can say that it is somewhat difficult but very doable. the devs on here are very helpful and once i started making them, i was able to get some quick answers and direction which cleared things up.

i would say if you were interested in developing some, take a look at the current modules available and find one close to what you want to accomplish. then dig into them. there's quite a few hooks they've made available to call certain actions (modules) during application use.

Another thing about the hooks are if you need a hook somewhere just add it yourself. that way you only have to add one line of code to pligg. which means it's much easier to upgrade your installation.

Sometime back we too got struck with the same question, as many developers are willing to share their code and since modules are officially supported now - there should be a document on how-to for mods development.

All we did for now was to create a text file (README.txt) detailing on how to install it on the popular templates, other files needed and locations to place them in the pligg installation. But I dunno how to make it show into the modules list or activate and deactivate it either. Also if something requires to read values from user - then I currently hard-code it into these files.

Admins - pls consider a document or how-to for module developers.
