Anybody tried gzip for smarty?

wanna save some bandwidth money. any luck with this plugin?

I did what's suggested in http://www.pligg.com/forum/showthread.php?p=15036 and it seems it's working. You can test it at: http://whatsmyip.org/mod_gzip_test/
