| Hi All, I've been racking in my brain and my google thumb to find a decent php based login system that could be used in developing php-based sites. Do you think the Pligg system would be a good candidate to use as the backbone for something like this from ease of use, security, and ease of building the system standpoints? I do like Pligg's use of ez_sql, but do not want to tie it to Smarty. If anybody has any suggestions, they'd be much appreciated. If you think the Pligg system would work, any suggestions on which files are absolutely necessary would be helpful. What I'd like to do is build a framework that handles the security (cookies, login, user management, sanitizing, etc) and exposes a database class like ez_sql. You could do a simple include and then add in header, content, sidebar(s), footer includes to build your site. Please pardon me if this is not the right place for a post such as this. Thanks for your help, Byron |

| It appears I had limited my searches too narrowly (I've been searching for weeks). I was looking for login systems. But in writing this request for help (my first request in this process), I used the word Framework. That made me think of searching on frameworks. Apparently, CakePHP does all of the things I was wanting to do. Now, the question is whether I'll be able to comprehend it! Hope so. Thanks again, BB |
