Akismet Anti-Spam v0.2

This is for Beta 9.8.2. If you have Beta 9.9, you already have Akismet installed.

1. You'll need a WordPress API key if you don't already have one. You can get one here... Where is my WordPress.com API key? « WordPress.com
2. Update your utils.php with this (click here) changeset
3. Update your /libs/comment.php with this (click here) changeset
4. Upload the contents of the attached file into your modules folder
5. Enable the Akismet module
6. Access the module by using the 'Spam' link at the top
7. Enter your WordPress API key

If Akismet says a comment is spam, it will not be saved. It just disappears.

If Akismet says a story is spam, it is still submitted, but there will be a link at the top to either confirm or deny that it is spam. Confirming will change the status to discard.

This is a very basic / beta module and more features are coming.

To UPGRADE, just upload the new file, replacing the existing ones.

Admin
Module Manager
Find the Module
Click Install
Voila!

I just noticed something I wanted to share with you ash.

The system works amazing and has already stopped spam at Blog Engage.

When I went to look at the spam I have 2 options.

#1 Return to the Akismet Management page Yes, this is spam
#2 No, this is NOT spam

Url: Youtube latest videos
Status: discard
Subject: Live Streaming Videos
Body: videos, live videos, live streaming videos, soccer videos, football videos, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears Videos

When I select yes this is spam it refreshes the page. I'm not too sure what's it's suppose to do so I'm not saying it's a bug and I'm also not saying it's broke because it worked great!

I just don't know what it's suppose to do after I select yes it's spamm. It still have Spam (1) in the header even after I read it.

Just wanted to let you know how it was working for me so far in a live environment.

Please if you have any question about this comment or need clarification on what's happening and where just let me know.

OK, I updated the anti-spam module to .4 and my site's down. How do I manually remove it?

If enabling the module causes this problem, try reuploading the files. It's possible one didn't upload correctly. If that doesn't fix it, you can remove the module by just deleting the akismet folder in the modules folder.

Didn't help. I also reloaded the file backup I made last night and that's not working either.

I'll check with the server admin if anything else is up, but failing that I guess I'm reinstalling pligg.

Update: I also found the module entry in the SQL DB. I set that to 0. Hoping that works...
