No support by the author.

This is for Beta 9.8.2. If you have Beta 9.9, you already have Akismet installed.
  1. You'll need a WordPress API key if you don't already have one. You can get one here... Where is my WordPress.com API key? « WordPress.com
  2. Update your utils.php with this (click here) changeset
  3. Update your /libs/comment.php with this (click here) changeset
  4. Upload the contents of the attached file into your modules folder
  5. Enable the Akismet module
  6. Access the module by using the 'Spam' link at the top
  7. Enter your WordPress API key

If Akismet says a comment is spam, it will not be saved. It just disappears.

If Akismet says a story is spam, it is still submitted, but there will be a link at the top to either confirm or deny that it is spam. Confirming will change the status to discard.

This is a very basic / beta module and more features are coming.

To UPGRADE, just upload the new file, replacing the existing ones.

Could not open .//libs/lang.conf

OK, I figured out the problem..

I am running Pligg_Beta_9.9.0 on my server. Pligg_Beta_9.9.0 already has a version of Akismet. I over wrote that version with Akismet 4.0 located on this thread. You can't do that and live.

I just deleted the mod/Akismet and added mod/Akismet from Pligg_Beta_9.9.0.

Amazing, it works...what a newbert. (It's amazing what a good sleep will do)

Any ideas?

I quote. The same happens on my site. No matter what I do on the stories that are marked as spam, they will still be counted as spam, and the total count keeps increasing.

The module is effective, i.e. if I say that a story is spam it'll be discarded. But as it won't disappear from the list, I foresee that soon the spam list will become hard to manage.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Unhappy

Hi,

I have spend hours to test this mod, it is one of the greatest gift towards Pligg community, thank you very much AshDigg.

I am using pligg 9.9, so it came along with it, but there is a problem when it find some link as spam, for example i have posted a link of one UTF-8 Arabic site, i edited the title into English, but as default source title is in Arabic so i think that why the Akismet Anti-Spam detect it as Spam, anyway this is not the problem. the main thing is that when i click on "1 Spam" it follow to Akismet Anti-Spam management page, now there i got 2 option :-
1) Yes its a spam
2) No its not a spam

When i click on "No its not a spam" it won't change the status of Spam, i still see "1 Spam" on header and on Management page "1 Spam Item(s) need to be reviewed!"

No matter what i do the status won't change, even if i make this story as published the Akismet Anti-Spam change it back to queued.

Does it happens only with me ? or is there any fix for this

There is another problem with this module in 9.9, if its enabled you can't be able to post comments, but as soon as you disable it from admin panel, you will be able to post comment

I asked my code guru Grayscale about why this happens on furryne.ws and he found the fix to this: The problem is in the akismet_main.php. In his words: "there were two lines that used to say 'unset', I replaced it with a call to akismet_remove_id, which is a new function I added"

If anyone understands that, let me know too :P. I'll log into the FTP side of my site when I can to get a copy of the file and post the updated code here.
