This is just a suggestion, and ignore it if you find it a silly one.. but rather than having 20 idividual testers what about if the testing was carried out on a central site running pligg 9.9.0 ? For example, I have two domain names which are spare not doing anything at the moment, one is related to camera stuff, one relating to Apple. One of these could be set-up with Pligg 9.9.0 and access could be given to the pligg dev team for mysql stats, users of this forum, could create accounts add links etc, and use it like a working site, we could then add one by one, the pro modules, and have a thread relating to the 9.9.0 test site. Where the whole community could be involved in the testing. |

| Very good ide formula. Then everyone could participate founding bugs and suggesting improvements ![]()

I odn't want to sound like I'm having a pop at the Pligg Dev team, because I have seen ( Especially recently with the spam episode) how you guys try to fix, problems. What I am suggesting, is you have built a community here, of pligg sites, who all want to progress, they see the advantages of pligg, and what a great script it is. The reason, why I suggest this, is because from version 9.9.0 we could create documentation, for installs, mods etc so that we capture everything that is relevent to pligg, in one scope. I'm sure your board has members that are hot on documentation, graphics, mySQL ect... we combine everything together, and all users test to point out bugs, this gives you guys the developement team to work on core issues, and the testers to suggest improvements etc.. We can even have it so adsense (share) module is active for pligg dev team. My suggestion, is not for my own goals, it is for the goal of the community, because we all want to see pligg grow. Testing is ok, but sometimes it is not until you go live, you see the bugs, this way, bugs are not so important to the site, because it is effectively a test site... I would be happy to document the installation problems that could happen with a fresh install, then we could document the modules, sql etc... You have enough members on the board, some have skills in ceratain area's etc... |

| I'm excited about 9.9.0. Unfortunately, I don't have much time for testing. If you are short a few people I can try...But I also like the idea mentioned above about having a central Pligg beta server where we could mess around and try and find bugs. This could be in addition to the 20 individual testers, b/c I also agree with Ash - you want different operating environments and test scenarios as well.

| Hey guys if your still looking for a tester I am more then willing to help out. I have a few domain names that aren't doing much at all so I could easily install it and have a go at the new features. Just send me a pm if you need the extra help! If you have a list of specific features you want me to try just send it as an attachment and I will do them all over the next 2 days and provide detailed information on any bugs I think I found! Cheers, bbrian017 |
