| Mention on TechCrunch (France) Whoever knew that there was a French version of TechCrunch? It was a big suprise for me to find that out when sifting through the recent refferals to pligg.com. TechCrunch (France) mentioned Pligg in a post about the site Scoopeo. I had never heard of Scoopeo previous to reading this article, but it looks like it's really popular in France. Take a look at the statistics they list in the article for more details. I'll end on probably the best part of the article (translated into English of course), which points out that the weakness in digg-clones is that they all are trying to be Digg. In order to succeed you must pick a niche and stick with it, otherwise your site will be lost in the noise with the hundreds of Digg-like sites out there competing for a very general audience. Quote:

| Scoppeo is popular in france, but, it's not based on pligg. The TechCrunch article explains that there is too much digg like... and TechCrunch says that is very easy to install a such web site with Pligg... Excuse me for my bad english... but I'm french ![]() |
