Dreamhost One-Click Pligg Install

We're working on making the next release more DreamHost friendly. The next version should automatically set up your Pligg install for you, rather than just dumping the files on the server and being done with it. It would be difficult for them to support every small release, so we accept that they only update versions on major releases. We should be providing them with information about our next release so that they will have our support in upgrading to the next version.
Even though they may not always be running the most current version of Pligg, it's still a great way for people to try out our software without having to do much work. That benefit far outweighs the disadvantage of not running the latest version at all times.

It's just a pity that DreamHost suck from personal experience it has got to be one of the slowest hosting comapnies around. Also if you search for DreamHost complaints the results are overwhelming even for a budget host these guys have got to be one of the worst. upstartblogger.com which writes a lot about pligg has some interesting posts about his DreamHost experience that are worth a read.

Good to see Pligg getting some coverage though and and for a host to provide 1 click installs is pretty cool just a shame it's DreamHost

Adaman it's unfortunate you don't have anything positive to add to the conversation. If you search for complaints from just about any company you will get results. Satisfied customers don't write letters. Heck, even people on here complain about templates they bought from you. Maybe you should spend more time supporting your own customers than complaining about DH.

Well he has the right to say his opinion and if it's negative well that's his right! I also think the service blows! I suggest going to godaddy and paying 3 dollars a month for you own site and buy a domain name!

Mind you when pligg sites are busy they are slow in general so this may have been because the site is so popular. I guess this would be an excellent way to start a pligg site if your not interested in owning and hosting your own server. Sometimes it's easier this way for people!
