We're expecting (my guess is within a week or two) to give you the ability to choose between the old and new template, plus new ones that are created.

This is what's preventing me from the upgrade. It would even be nice to have a variation of the ancient template, i.e. menus on left and vote boxes to the right or something.

We will not be going back to the original template used prior to Beta 6. This is because the CSS used in previous versions had copied portions of the Digg.com CSS and this puts everyone who uses this file at risk of legal repercussions (AKA getting sued by digg). If you want to recreate a template from scratch that has the same look and submit it to us we will be glad to offer it as a template.

About creating a new template, are there any tips for how to begin? I'm more of a designer than a programmer but I admit that I have totally and completely screwed up the design on my pligg. I'd love to create a brand new template.... if I had a clue on how to begin. For instance, is there any particular reason all the CSS is floating?

I just installed the latest pligg (6.01) and I would really like it to look like digg or meneame.net.

Does anyone have the template?

No Dont be afraid to use a table or 2 either, there isn't anything wrong with it.

I'd recommend checking out the smarty manual, its got a section just for designers.
