a) I don't mind people earning money
b) Everything I release is open (as in CC and free as in beer).
c) I don't like when people break the CC licencing.

Let me quote the CC of the mollio beat template:
Quote:
You are free:
  • to Share — to copy, distribute and transmit the work
  • to Remix — to adapt the work
Under the following conditions:
  • Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
  • For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work. The best way to do this is with a link to this web page.
  • Any of the above conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder.
  • Nothing in this license impairs or restricts the author's moral rights.
So i don't care he is making money with his templates, but I don't like the way Christopher is doing it. I don't like hurting people, but in this case he earns it (correct me if i'm wrong, chris).

@ kbeeveer46, I understand that, but I think steps should be taken now for the future, when pligg is more stable from version to version. Before more sites like this pop up. IMO

What's wrong with sites like this popping up?

Nothing, I just don't want to see all the resources for pligg decentralized from this site. I guess searching for Joomla templates have given me too many nightmares.

Hi Beatniak,

Sorry I have not had a chance to reply to your post. I wanted to let you know that I removed the reference to the catcolors css. I used prior Pligg templates as a reference for creating the original designs, and this bit of legacy code slipped past me. (You are right that I was never even using the catcolors.css file in the templates). Again, sorry about the mix up over the CC license.

Also, I appreciate all the work that you and the development team for Pligg have done. It's an awesome product, and it continues to get even stronger. I know that the templates from Pligg-Templates are not free, but I do believe that they enhance the Pligg project by providing users of Pligg with choice. It takes a lot of work to create a new template design, and I think for some people, they like the designs, and the choice, that Pligg-Templates offers. So I have nothing but respect for the project, and as Pligg continues to develop, I hope Pligg-Templates is able to offer a complementary service to some of the users of Pligg.

All the best,
Christopher
