Pligg Template Stablizing

I have been working on my regular job and settling in after our second child was born(little boy), so I have not been around much to participate in this great community.

I understood that there was going to be a pretty big change in the way the template foundation was in Pligg.

Can anyone catch me up on the happenings with the template structure and if it is safe to start heavily modifying\creating a new template on Pligg 9.7 Beta? By safe, I mean is it ok to start creating a template for myself on this version only to have to port it later.

I appreciate your time in responding.

By the way it feels good to be back on this forum so many great people here.

Be Well,
OneLessThang

Hi onelessthang

Congrats on procreating... That's one more pligger to ad to the pile..

As for the template thing... Good question.. It does look like were going to stray away from the current template structure a bit in future versions. This is only to make it easier when a stable version comes out.

Personally I wouldn't wait if your going to start a new site.. Just go for it.. The pligg core is pretty much as far as it's able to go for this version.. Anything added might be bells and whistles. The next version is going to be a total rewrite and will work with current databases.

Is there an ETA on the next version? What do you mean by a total re-write?

It is the straying away from the template structure that concerns me. But if I am reading what you wrote correctly I should be able to develop my template on the current structure and not have it mess up that much with the re-write.

Thanks for the congrats. He is definitely be a pligger.
