Vote Count Box

I'd like to get fancier looking Vote Count boxes... Boxes are boring.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to round the corners?

we are discussing in the IRC room about breaking the mold with Pligg and making horizontal bars or something to vote with. Everyone uses a boxy area for votes and I think it would be refreshing to see something new.

For rounded corners, there's a great script here:

It uses Javascript instead of images and degrades to square corners for those with Javascript disabled.

As for voting, I'm not sure how you could implement horizontal bars as the container for a bar would have to have a maximum size but there's no maximum for the number of votes a story could get, unless you showed the percentage of votes against some benchmark (total no. of users?) rather than just the number of votes. Just thinking aloud...

I think that all of the vote box color is just the background image. I updated the image to a round vote area for Beta 6, but it has some issues as is right now. Let me know what you think of it...

I just replaced the image. Scan the CSS file for elmnm-p03.png, or do a file replace of img/common/elmnm-p03.png You might need to edit the CSS a bit, but generally speaking it's not much work.
