| Creating new template pages I've searched a bunch, but I haven't found an answer to this question yet: I'm developing a pligg site with a custom template. I want to add some new pages to my template that don't come with the standard pligg install. For example, I want to create an "About" page explaining the site. I also want to create a "Contact" page and a blog. I'd like these pages to include the pligg header, footer, and sidebar, so I assume I need a new .tpl file. Creating the .tpl is easy (just a text file), but how do I link to it? How do I make sure that when that URL is called from a link on my pligg site, the header, footer, and sidebar are included in the resulting page? I don't even know exactly how to call the URL, all the URLs in pligg are something like <a href="{$URL_submit}"> Basically, how do I add more templated pages to pligg? Thanks for the help! |

| Pligg comes with an about page template in which you can edit at template/faq-eng_center.tpl Pligg also comes with a contact module which will do exactly as you described above. You may also want to check out Understanding Pligg Template Files

| Thanks Chuck, that's helpful. But I still have the need to add some other pages that don't come with pligg. I've checked out the understanding pligg template files post, which is helpful, but I guess I'm still not there yet. For example, when I create my new .tpl file, do I just need to put {config_load file=”/libs/lang.conf”} in the top and that's it? Then, how do I call that new .tpl page? What should I link my internal navigation to? I assume this involves setting up a new variable or something, but I'm not sure how or where to do that. |

| If you look at faq.php and faq-eng_center.tpl you can see how everything is called, you can also copy those and create a new name, edit the php file to point to the newly named tpl file and just add anything you want in there to easily create new pages. Then you can freely add links to those pages anywhere you want..
