    Moving servers and version 9.8 -> 9.9.0

    I have 6 months worth of data on a 9.8 installation and have to move servers. I'd like to take this opportunity to upgrade, but noticed the database schemas are very different. What the best approach please - install 9.9.0 empty on the new server then migrate the data, or copy everything to the new server as is and update 9.8 to 9.9 in place (and how exactly do I do both of those please)? Thanks.

    Also would like to know. Is it better to upgrade from 9.8.0 to 9.9 directly or to upgrade 9.8.0 the each version until 9.9?

    I am also curious about this.
    There needs to be some sort of guide or at least a tidbit of help on updating pligg...especially if the changes in each update are so different that they have different database schemas...

    Get the whatever version you were using on the old server working on your new server, then upgrade to 9.9. incrementally ..

    Go with chuckroast advice (incrementally). Also, it's better to let your new host do all the transfer to their server, they usually provide this service for free but I don't know in your case. Once you're 9.8 installation work on the new server, upgrade as chuckroast said - from 9.8 to 9.8.1 to 9.8.2 to 9.9 (I may have missed some version though)
