admin totals

Can anyone explain the purpose of the admin totals module?

I read the description, but I still do not totally understand. :-)

I've use this before when there's a bug when I upgrade. During that time, it doesn't show the correct number of Published and Upcoming News, thus the PAGES navigation is also incoorect. Admin Totals corrected that problem.
