It's possible to change categories from many stories at same time? For example, in admin > manage news, there are 3 options: "publish" "queued" "discard". Can we add the option "change category" and select it below? is there any mod? (i've searched for similar threads but i don't find anything)

you can do that very easily.
use the same news management code .

in place of three radio button put 1 drop down that consist all the cat(extract from database) with category id value.

then use simple query to update category as updating news status(publised,discard etc.)
