| I just thought about a different solution:
What about a button at the top of the comment page to switch on/off an auto-refresh? This could trigger a small comment like "Live blogging started/ended".
Then we would have all advantages of a logged conversation (permanent, rating possibility) and the speed of a chat!
What do you think?
Edit: Such a function could be useful if a user links to an important event in sports, politics etc. and could improve your PI significantly.
