    1. Upload the files
    2. Create a MySQL database through Godaddy. Write down the information somewhere because the MySQL data will be needed during the Pligg installation.
    3. Install Pligg: Navigate to your domain /install/ and fill in the details using the information you wrote down from step 2.
    4. Navigate to your admin panel (/admin_index.php). Log in as username: god password: 12345 .
    5. Configure your site and then the language items.
    6. Change the password for the user "god". From the pligg homepage, click on profile, then modify.

All of this information, besides the GoDaddy specific links can be found in the install.txt file included with Pligg.

thats what I thought. I can't believe I didn't think of FtPing... grrr

anyways, I dled Pligg and there is no 'index.txt' file... just 'index.php'.

if I put it under 'install' then my site won't work right. I've tried it with other programs such as 'dotnetnuke' and it wouldn't let me put it in the main directory so I put it as "www.mysillysite.com/index'
and it showed up as "www.mysillysite.com/index' not 'www.mysillysite.com' (that isn't my site.. just giving an example'

    thanks

so I just upload all the files into the root directory then?

its installed but whats the database name /id/password?

okay I installed it and it is asking for this:

    Database Name
    Database Username
    Database Password
    Database Server
    Table Prefix

what are they? because I put in "Pligg" and it didn't work.

the username from the readme file says to use 'god' ?? or what do I plug in?

As I mentioned in the directions above, use the details from Godaddys mysql creation for installing pligg. Please read the install directions more carefully.
Also, there should be a file index.php not index.txt. The only time I mentioned a text file was install.txt which contains directions.

    Thanks

I did follow everything. I am on the installation process except I don't have the database id or password. The ID should be the name of my site and I know my user ID and password but it cannot connect to it

I even tried to make a new database and the same thing. It says that it cannot connect to the database.

the problem I was having was the HOST name and I also had to hit 'reload' on the pligg installation process.

    it works now.

I'm having the same problem. It sounds ridiculous, but I can't figure it out. What did you put where in the forms?
