    Sumbit story delay

There is a strange thing going on with the final step (3) of my Pligg install. More specific, after the preview and clicking the submit story button, it keeps on loading like 30 seconds before going on to the next page. I guess there is some function on this submission step that keeps processing for a while on my install. Any ideeas why this happens?

PS: this does not occur on my localhost test box install and it only happens on the remote install on the live website. Kinda strange.

usually step 3 isnt where the slow down will happen. Have you enabled akismet or another module that might cause a slowdown?

It's not step 3 (the page where it should say step 3 of 3) but the final submission step, after you click the submit story button and the script is supposed to store the $link object and redirect you to /upcomming where you would see the story waiting to go live.

First I also thought, like you said, that it was akismet. Though that same host also runs a WPMU install using akismet which doesn't slow it down at all. Anyway, I disabled akismet and removed the module from the installed list and it still lags the same.

    Current loaded modules are:
    Code:
Javascript Effects Pack v0.1 - disable
        desc: scriptaculous, editinplace, prototype
Admin Modify Language v0.1 - disable
desc: Allows the god users to modify the lang.conf file
requires: scriptaculous version 0.1 - pass
    Captcha v0.1 - disable
        desc: Captcha system
    Admin Totals v0.1 - disable
desc: Makes sure the "totals" table is up-to-date.
    Image Upload v1 - disable
desc: Allows an image (JPG, GIF, PNG, WBMP) to be attached to submission with a custom caption (optional; default is story title). GD 2.0.28 is currently installed.
    Template Management v0.13 - disable
desc: Allows you to change the default template.
    Thickbox v0.1 - disable
desc: Thickbox is a script used to overlay content on the current page. For documentation on Thickbox, visit: http://jquery.com/demo/thickbox/
Simple Private Messaging v0.1 - disable
desc: Basic private messages to each other.
Ajax Contact Form v0.1 - disable
desc: Add a contact form for your users to contact you
Admin Modify Formulas v0.1 - disable
desc: Allows GOD user to modify the formulas.
requires: scriptaculous version 0.1 - pass
My next guess would be Image Upload module (I allow users to upload a thumb which will be showcased next to their story). Any other hints?
    Thanks

It is disabled on my install (set it to false).

PS: talking about it, doesn't that occur only on step 2, after you type in the URL? Does it validate it on the final step too?

Yes it does validate on step 1.

Please read my previous posts about Akismet being disabled and removed on my website and issue occuring on final submission click, not step 1.

Well, yeah, when you submit a story, until it is finally submitted and added to the `queued` list, you get a bunch of `discard` status copies of that story. I thought it was a feature and not a bug, sort of saving the story until it is completely submitted.
On the other hand, the way Pligg submission system works is based on those `discard` status stories. More specific, it reads the submitted story data from those entries until the point it finally adds the story to the `queued` list. So, if I would tweak it to avoid storing those `discard` entries, it will sort of loose the story data on its way.
