I understand how things are promoted (libs.php) but is there a function that re-tabulates the ranking order?
In other words, is there code that makes stories move up and down the front page? It seems that things only move down as the newest story get published and a 'top story' has no way of regaining the top stop.
sorry for the bump on this but would like some detail. I am looking at having a freelancer do some dev on this so any hooks or info that may be relevant I would appreciate.
My intention is to have a cron job to tabulate based on votes (up & down), karma and age of post.
If this is already in dev please let me know so I can make smart decisions with my dev budgets.
It is my hope to have this made as a module, if not I plan to contribute the resulting code into the repository.

Stories that reach the minimum vote count are promoted from upcoming to published. As more stories are published, each one moves down the page. The entire idea pf Pligg is to provide you whats popular now. Not what could be popular 6 months after is been submitted.
Someone months ago submitted a hack that would add a vote to any story or comment that was made if it was read. Essentially making it (published) again. You should search the forums. In the mean time I'm going to move this thread from the help forums into the customization assistance forum since it really doesn't have anything to do with the current pligg core.
