Image Upload by entering a URL into text field
I've seen pligg sites here you enter an image URL as a text field and the image is retrieved, resized, and stored locally as a thumbnail in the story. Is there module for this? I purchased the submit pro, but that doesnt seem to do the job.
If there is no module.. does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

I am able to do this using submit pro just fine. Click on the image icon and it will pop up a box asking for the image url. You can then click and re-size it to what ever you like.

thanks for the reply chuck.
The submit pro does work if you want to embed the image inside the description. However I want to be able to reference/display that image on page according to a custom layout similar to wrapping divs around the image module. The only difference from the image module and what I am looking for is that instead of clicking "browse" my computer for the image.. it will be a text field for the image url. I assume this would require the image to be saved locally and be referenced in the database including some smarty configuration.
Do you have any advice or be able to point me in the right direction?.. and ill take a stab at the customization. Thanks!

The only other thing I've seen was this post, and I'm sure it's slightly outdated by now.
