Language issue

hi,

I have installed rc1.0 and have observed this strange behavior. Wondering whether it is a bug:

the installation went smooth. I tried to post some stories in Chinese. the website actually displayed it properly. However, when I tried to translate the lang_english.conf file into Chinese, I ran into some problem. those stories in Chinese can still be displayed properly. however, other than that, the rest also show as some garbage characters. and if i change the Character Encoding in the browser to Chinese, the Chinese articles will be displayed as garbage characters. that means these two cannot work properly under the same Character Encoding setting. Is this a bug?

Would changing the charset make any difference? I don't have any experience with testing other languages, so I will have to depend on someone else to assist in help fixing this problem with Pligg.

well, can you tell me where i can modify the charset? i can help to test it with Chinese language and let users here know how it goes.

it seems that the database handles Unicode quite well. so, publishing stories in Chinese is not a problem at all. in fact, searching in Chinese for story titles is not a problem either.
