    Two Problems

Would it be possible to remove the URL entry step of the submission process? My site is going to be all editorial content, so I don't want the annoyance and I don't want users to have URLs attached to the stories.

    Also,

Does anybody know a way to have the stories truncated on the front page? I would like long stories to be submitted, but only a few lines of them to appear on any page with more than one story listed.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    1. In your config.php file there should be an option to either make submitting a URL a requirement or not. Once you find this, change it to false.

    2. In the latest build available for download (198) this is an option. When users submit stories there are two boxes, one for a long description and another one for a shorter description. Download the newest version in the current version forum.

You could just redirect links straight to step 2. They don't have to see step 1 at all.

Showing No - add URL - to users

If you answer false to both questions below - which are located in the
    - Admin Panel - Configure Pligg -submit - in Pligg 198

    Require a URL when submitting
description: Require a URL when submitting
    value: false
    default value: true
    expected values: true / false

    Show the URL input box
description: Show the URL input box
    value: false
    default value: true
    expected values: true / false

Your users will not see the URL option
