    Backup

    Hello,

when i try to do a backup and click on one of the options, nothing happens. There are no links for download.I try IE, Firefox and Opera with Javascript enabled.

There is also no error message. I use Pligg 1.0 RC2

    Best,
    Karl

Some servers won't support the mysql backup. Haven't had a server that didn't allow the file backup option though.

have you check your backup folder at admin > backup. If its there it means it has been created but pligg fail to list it under the admin panel.

After several backup trys, there was no backup folder, so i have created one by hand and chmod it to 777

I can not see any backup folder in the admin backup area.Just the 3 backup links and the remove links.

If i click on the of the backup links, it needs a few seconds, then it seems the screen flickers a spiltsecond, thats all. There is nothing in the backup folder.

it is a dedicated server. it should be able to do a backup. the strange thing is, that there is no error message.

where did you create the backup folder in, is this a live website. Have you tried doing a fresh install since it looks like some files were not copied over to your webserver. By default if uncompress pligg there should be a folder name backup under admin.

    Hello mismeflight,

thanks a lot. I reinstall the script an chmod the backup folder to 777. Now i can see the backup file in the admin.

It whould be a good idea to display an error message if the folder is not there or not writeable.

Thanks a lot to the developers for this nice program!

you may want to chmod it to 755 or anything else that is more Restrictive as you don't need 777 on backup folder.
