When I try and add a comment it's not saving for some reason! I'm thinking it's a setting I messed with today when I finished adding the image upload module.

I also started allowing anonymous voting but I don't think that would affect anything.

Any ideals why when submitting a comment it's not being saved?

The old comments are still showing...

Well that's the thing. I didn't edit any files that would have affected the comments functionality. you can type the comment and select submit but when the page refreshes the message simply doesn't appear.

Trust me if I knew more info I would have added it! I could set up a demo account so you can see what's happening but I don't know what else I can tell you. Do you have any suggestion or ideals to why the comments aren't saving?

I was playing with the permissions for the images folder but I don't think that would affect the comments system. I notice the last comment added to the site was 2 days ago! Can you think of any other reason this may have happened? Seriously I'm stumped... I don't even know the first steps I can take to see what the issue is...

you should sign up and try to comment and see what happens! It refreshes the page and the comment isn't there...

Well seeing I'm in the dark on this one I decided to install a fresh copy of pligg 9.8.2 on another root folder found here, Pligg Beta 9 / Published News

I than restored the Blog Engage database on to it!

As you can see the comments are being left when I select submit so this leaves me even more stumped!

But the good news is I know what ever affected this comment system was not a database issue but a file issue most likely in my root blogengage folders.

So at this point I'm left with one possible option to self fix the comments situation. I'm backing up the entire blog engage folder contents, installing a fresh copy of pligg and restoring the original database!

This should have the same affect on the main blogengage site as it did over at the test site. At this point i should be able to comment.

If this is successful I will then start fixing all the language files and faq stuff again to be specific for blog engage!

Well wish me luck... what a way to spend a Sunday

hahaha

My idea has worked and comments are being saved again! I reinstalled pligg, restored the database and it's good to go! I wish I knew what I did to create this issue as we know it's NOT a pligg issue!

Well I have some language configuring to do so ttyl!

Thanks chuck!
