Right now the user vote count includes stories that are discarded. One of the usernames I was using to test my site when I was building it has 36 votes, but if you view his profile it only shows two stories under "stories he voted for".
Also, since anytime a user gets to step 3 the story is actually created (it's just set as discarded if he doesnt submit it in step 3). With auto vote turned on this is a problem because every time a user starts to submit a story but doesnt actually submit it his vote count (number of times he voted) is increased by one.
