I just tried Pligg 1.0 RC3. non-English (Turkish) characters don't work. it's on RC3 and basic things still don't work. I'm begining to loose my hope.

Please for once POST SOME USEFUL INFORMATION!
It's like you are going to the doctor. You need to tell us what's wrong, otherwise we don't know what needs to be fixed.
Please post SPECIFIC information about what doesn't work, what is broken and what still needs to be added.

Once again, that isn't helpful in the least bit tonuonu. I'm going to start temporarily banning users who are posting generic problems without providing any specific examples. We are tired of trying to help users who are either too lazy or too dumb to post examples of bugs and how to recreate them. This is free and open source software, meaning that we aren't being paid to help you and the code is open for you to try to find a bug and fix it on your own. Since we only have a few developers who speak only a few languages we aren't able to test outside of our own languages very easily.
We will continue to try to fix whatever foreign language issues exist with Pligg, but its neither helpful or supportive for you to criticize our work (as seen on another post) without giving us any examples to work from.

In my language ( spanish) all is ok with title and story, but not in tags, for exaple if you import Rss with title: "España ganó la Eurocopa de fútbol" all is imported right but in tags you read: "espaa gan la eurocopa de ftbol"
I think that occurs with symbols: ñ, á, é, í, ó, ú and ü These symbols are ignored in tags and this generate a word without sense
I have some problems too with the URL method 2, in the previous example, the url generate for the story "España ganó la Eurocopa de fútbol" will be: mysite.com/category/news/espa/
Another example: the url for the story "Esto es una web española de noticias" will be:
mysite.com/category/news/esto-es-una-web-espa/
The url is truncated when find a char: ñ á é í ó ú ü
I dont make test for a story with first letter ñ á é í ó ú ü but probably generate an empty url
Yankidank, I tried to give as much details in my post you pointed. I explained well why 8-bit exactly does not work and even how to fix some of the problems. I am ready to help with more data and main thing - I can provide my site dump to test it on new pligg revisions. If something more I can do, let me know.
Another thinkg I forgot - link on bottom of pligg.com to Eric Heikkinen: Web Marketing and Multimedia Designer goes to red screen "Reported Attack Site!" on my firefox. This usually means that it is hacked and distributes trojans.
Thanks for the warning about the google block. That's a recent change. For some reason they are detecting the incorrect IP address for the server, and this is the second site in a week that has suffered from this problem.
Back to the point of this thread: we've made an update to the SVN today, you might want to test your database on the latest version.
A developer noted this from an email contact with me: "As for foreign languages in .htaccess file, I don't think we really need to change anything there, because Pligg constructs "safe" urls using main set of latin characters only."
