Tags and Category Invisible for first link

Hi,

I have a rather strange problem. On every page that displays links, be it published/upcoming/search, the tags and category for only the first link is in the color of the background and not that which is defined in the CSS. Also it does not follow the CSS specifications like the font and other classes for only the first link,i.e. it displays it in some other font. All other links/stories except the first are displayed perfectly. Any suggestions?

Fixed the issue myself. It seems someone else had made edits to the stylesheet and removed a </span>.
