Cannot join groups as normal user

SVN 534: I cannot join groups when I'm logged in as normal user - only as admin user. Pligg shows me "withdraw request" but I'm not added as a member to a group.

Well, what privacy setting does the group have? Public groups should auto-approve new members, the other 2 privacy settings require that the group admin approves you before you become a member.

The group is public. I have tried with other user accounts, but always the same problem: I'm not added as member. In pliggs database the member_status is set to active.

Now I have tested on the pligg demo site. After joining a group there I get the link "unjoin group". On my installation I get instead a link named "withdraw request". What does this mean and where is the error?

Now I have deleted all groups, deactivated the group feature and reactivated it and now it works !!! There must have been an error during working with this feature.

Now I found out that it is a bug, it was not a mistake of me !!! I replicated it on pliggs demo site. Look here:Group | | My Site
If you try to join you get this "withdraw request", although the group is public. It appears after 'No of Votes to Publish' is changed.

Ok, I just tried this out myself on my localhost install and couldn't reproduce it. The pligg demo site isn't up to date with the latest version, I think it's on RC3 or RC2. Below are the steps I took to try to reproduce the problem:

    1. Created 3 groups with my admin account. Set each group to a different privacy setting.
    2. Logged out and into a normal level user account.
    3. Joined all 3 groups. Had to be approved by the admin to be accepted into 2 of the groups.
    4. Admin approved normal account for the private and restricted groups.
    5. Logged back into normal account and confirmed that I was now a member of all 3 groups. I could now click on an "unjoin this group" link, which appears instead of withdraw request at this point.
    6. Logged into admin account. Changed the number of votes required and group title values.
    7. Logged out of admin and into normal account. Checked my status for all 3 groups. Still shows the "unjoin" link.

As you can see from my test of the latest SVN version I can't duplicate your results.

Now do Step 8 and join as normal user to the public group. I get "withdraw request".

Problem appears only with public groups. These are my steps:
    1. Created a public group with my admin account (number of votes 5).
    2. Logged out and into a normal level user account.
    3. Joined this group.
    4. Logged into admin account. Changed the number of votes to 1.
    5. a) Logged out of admin and into normal account. Unjoined the group and join again. Now "withdraw request" appears
    or
    b) Login with a new user account and try to join, "withdraw request" also appears.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I now am able to confirm this bug. We'll look into fixing it tomorrow.
