    Arrow Problem with Georgian language

    Hello everyone,

    I'm having a problem with the localization of Pligg on Georgian language (UTF-8). I tried to translate it from the admin panel and I've got hexadecimals instead of correct characters (See attached photo). I've also tried http://forums.pligg.com/general-help/17736-foreign-languages-bug-pligg-1-0-rc4.html#post77447 , but it didn't work.
    Any advice will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Ike

    I cannot reproduce your problem. Could you post the words and characters that are giving you this problem? I've created a category, story title and story description using the following Georgian alphabet:
    Code:
    აბგდევზთიკლმნოპჟრსტუფქღყშჩცძწჭხჯჰ
    The result is a working category URL, and none of the characters have been translated into HTML hexidecimal values. This is using the latest SVN version of Pligg, but I assume that RC5 would give you the same result. I attached a screenshot (please ignore the ugly template in progress) as proof that it's working for me according to the example characters I posted above.

    You may want to look into whether any of the characters you are entering need to be added to /languages/translit.txt, but I don't think that would be related to the original post.

    Yankidank, Thnaks for your answer.

    To clarify situation:

    The problem happens when I change the string from "Language" section of Admins panel or directly in lang_georgian.conf. Creation of category using georgian letteres is OK.
    Tthe results are slightly different when translating from "Language" or from file:
    1. 1) when I translate from "Language", the string are shown as Hexadecimal codes of letteres;
    2. 2) when I translate in file, the strings are shown like the system does not understand well UTF-8.

    I inserted the same string of Georgian characters into the Admin language editor and it resulted in the characters displaying correctly on the homepage. I can't reproduce your error on the latest SVN version of Pligg. Are you using RC5 or something earlier?

    Yankidank,

    I've installed it yesterday and it's Pligg 1.0.0 RC4.

    Try upgrading to RC5, I'm 90% sure that we made a fix for this. If not in RC5 it's in the SVN version or it's something to do with your server.

    Thank you, I've upgraded to RC 5 and now translation from file works. But when i've tried from the interface it displays in Japanese or chinese.

    As I asked in my first post, could you give me an example of what characters or sentences you are trying to enter?

    Yankidank, I've tried to change "My Site" by „დაარჭე“, "home" by „შინ“, "no" by „არა“...

    დაარჭე = works
    შინ = works
    არა = works

    I suggest that you update to the latest SVN because I can't reproduce any of your examples.
