Not sure if this has been resolved or not. I did a search and couldn't find much

I noticed (after a year) that you can duplicate story titles. Of course there is an appendage of a number behind the title:

my story title-1
my story title-2
my story title-16

This really throws the SE's off though as the title is not appended visibly...only as a internal link.

Any advice, direction?

ver 9.8.2 - fairly up-to-date on SVN

As long as the rest of the content on the page is different (as it would be if the same title pointed to two different stories), SEs shouldn't have any problem with it -- or is there another issue I'm not thinking of?

Sorry for digging this old thread up... but it was the only one that matched my inquiry.

I'm using pligg in a slightly different fashion and don't have a need to include URL's or checking duplicate URL's. Instead, I'm using the Title field as the holder of unique data/information. Is there an easy way to switch the dupe checker to the Title field?

I have to admit, I haven't dug around in the code yet... but I did notice there wasn't anything in the Admin panel.

I see the function duplicates_title in the /lib/link.php file... can I tap into that somehow?

PS. I just did a clean install of the latest version today.
