I wanted to remove the "Submit a new story, step 1 of 3" from submit, I want users to submit content without URL's. I need some help/instructions to modify this functionality to make it work.

Thanks,
SL

This is the admin panel. Admin->Configure->Submit, then change these values to false;

Require a URL when submitting
description: Require a URL when submitting.
value: true
default value: true
expected values: true / false

Show the URL input box
description: Show the URL input box.
value: true
default value: true
expected values: true / false

What would you do if you would like the first page, but would like to bypass the URL box?

Reason I ask is I would like to give my users some tips on the first section but dont need the url section.

I CAN READ thank you!

But your big arrow doesnt answer my question.

I want to keep the step 1 page ... when you do as posted above it automatically skips step one and goes to step 2 page. I would like the user to still go to the step1 page as it gives those bullet points and I would like the user to still see those, the main thing I would like to do is get rid of the "News Content" (where the URL box is on step 1 page) and have just a continue button.

Your question has already been answered above. You can use Admin > Configure to hide the input box. The second post on this thread I believe answers your question.
