Ok it's true that Pligg 1.0 isn't even quite ready yet (it's very close!), but we need everyones help on brainstorming new cool, fun, and useful ideas for Pligg 2.0. What do you want to see? All ideas welcome!

So far you guys are way ahead of me on ideas. The ones If read about for the next release are awsome. The only thing I can think of right now is to add some kind of wrapper page that can be used to add either html pages or a forum or whatnot into the site. I also run a postnuke site and it has a htmlwrapper module. It comes in handy when you want something on the site that won't work in a standard module. My thought is for a forum to integrate (even though I can't get the login to integrate) into the site. So the top and side menu's wrap around the forum or whatever you want to add. I'm sure there is a way to do this on my own, but i can't figure it out without doing iframes, which I hate. Anyways, keep up the good work!! |

Some of the first things that I come to think of are pretty much about adding more of a community feeling, which I think is a good idea. Sorry if some have already been mentioned elsewhere: -- Get the PM-thingy up and running -- Show if users are Online/Offline -- Birthday and location in members profiles -- Favorite sites in profiles (maybe a top 5) -- Being able to upload your own profile photo -- Notification on new stories from any member of your choice -- Hide stories from any member of your choice -- Daily subscription (PM and/or email) of Queued, Published or All stories -- Optional feature to allow members to upload an image when submitting a story. Admin can set up max width, height & size. -- Admin option to set the default state of story links (Same window or New window) -- Same option for members Well, that was just some of my first ideas. Hope you find anything useful. Keep up the great work with Pligg! Last edited by Korak; 08-13-2006 at 01:55 PM. |

OK, not to copy digg, but I was there linked from another site, and for fun I clicked on the vote button. A small window (ajax I think) poped up and said "Make your vote count, login or register". Something that works something like that would be a nice feature to add. I don't like the way sites (including Pligg) just take you to the login page when clicking something that you have to be logged in to use. It should just be a note that comes up saying this is a member feature or something like that, and points you to where and what is needed. Something friendlier than just dumping you in the login page. Just a thought. |

How about a user-switchable profanity filter ... if the user enables it, it just stars (****) the offensive words .... just for comments I guess but it lets the sensitive user enjoy the site without getting scared off. Just checked Digg and they have one. Randy |

Ahh, I so had that idea last week. I was sitting in my car driving for 9 hours trying to come up with ideas for Pligg. I only had 3 ideas, and the only one that I remember right now is a profanity filter.
The Twitter Module for Pligg CMS! Register, Login, and Submit Stories with Twitter. An absolute MUST HAVE for all Pligg sites! |
