Cool Localhost install problem (probably not Pligg)

I'm testing sites on a local machine and have installed 2 with no problem. Now when I try to install a third, I get to step 2, enter db info, click Check Settings, and nothing happens.

If I enter a wrong database name it jumps to step 3 and I get this error message.
Error: Connected to the database, but the database name is incorrect.

Probably my machine and not Pligg but any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks!
