Hi just reporting the following bug..i was getting spammed on the site.

I am using Pligg ver: 9.9.5. As a result of spam I installed Akismet Anti-Spam v 0.4 and now no one can post comments on my site including the admin. I am getting Internet server 500 error when someone tries to post a comment.

I also changed the captcha from default to Recaptcha during registration. Can we start fresh in regards to these bugs for Pligg 9.9.5 users rather than going back to 2007 threads about this issue.

Its getting way to confusing and complicated to swift through hundreds of threads. Theres gotta be a better way for Pligg users.

Someone needs to urgently created a document in regards to SPAM and posts it on the forums. I also think the forum should be seperated by the versions of the pligg software people are using because it avoids confusion.

How can I implement Email Verification for new users? Can the wike be updated with all this once the dicussion is over in the forum. There is no use blaiming new users of Pligg because they just get confused!

We need to have better documentation for Pligg.

Arka

Just what bug are you reporting? This is the bug report forum. Your post seems more like a confused rant than a bug report. I'm moving this thread into the general help forum until you can provide an accurate bug report.

There hare literally hundreds of thousands of people happily using pligg with no problems. If you are having a problem you need to be more specific.

I asked you to provide more details, yet you felt it was better to sling insults. You will never get any help by doing that.

The definition of a bug is something that happens to EVERYONE not just one person. If you need help, you can ask for it like an adult.

So I'll give you one more chance to properly ask for help instead of ranting and tossing insults to the developers.

I am telling u something dude! u have an attitude problem! Yankidank doesnt do that but u do! stop being hitler and realise you are dealing with other fellow human beings. I am sick of your arrogant attitude. If you dont like helping people why are you even involved in a Open Source project like this. Go work for Google if you think your such a Good developer.

No one wonder ppl are writing stuff about you on the web.

I mean no offense dude but I really hope I am not the only one feeling this way about you. Just because ur the developer doesnt mean ur everything! without users Pligg is nothing.

Cheers

Arka

No one gave you an attitude dude!. I asked you to provide details 3 times now, and you have still refused.
I'm here to provide you with free help. If you can't provide details after being asked several times, then you become a waste of everyone's time.

I gave you a warning and instructed you to ask for help like an adult. You did not. So I'll be nice and ask you once again to explain your problem like an adult and we'll try to help.

If you can not, then you will end up being banned like the many trolls we get here on a daily basis.

See how easy that was?
From looking at your site the problem seems to be when you are submitting comments on yukty.com and it gets pushed to www.yukty.com after the comment submission.

I would suggest going to admin > configure> location installed> and try changing it from www.yukty.com to just yukty.com Then rename your default.htaccess file to just .htaccess and then go to your site http://yukty.com and see if you still have a problem.

it also could be that your server is timing out while trying to connect with akismet to check if the comment is spam or not.

Another thing you could try is this:

On line 141 of modules/akismet/libs/akismet.class.php:

Code:
strToUpper($type)." /{$this- >akismetVersion}/$path HTTP/1.1\r\n" .
replace this with

Code:
strToUpper($type)." /{$this- >akismetVersion}/$path HTTP/1.0\r\n"
