I think the reason this thread isn't picking up much traction is because people won't want to donate to integrate with their forum software. As an alternative, I might be willing to have these mods developed and sell them through the Pligg Pro shop. This would mean that EVERYONE would have to pay for the ability to integrate with forums, not just the people kind enough to make a donation toward the cause.

It doesn't have anything to do with copyrights. vBulletin can be modified however you want, including a login integration script with Pligg. We've tried hiring a developer MULTIPLE TIMES to build an integration method for Pligg and vBulletin in the past, but each time the developer has fallen through. I don't have much faith in hiring coders for vBulletin projects anymore. It also makes things more difficult when freelancers require a licensed (paid) version of vBulletin in order to even work on such a mod. With free bulletin board software like phpbb it is a lot easier to hire someone.

Either way works for me, I don't mind. I'm just glad you are interested in developing a forum mod for pligg, so that's good news!.

I threw the rest $$ on. I know that spoils the social aspect of fundraising - heh - but I'd really like to see this done.

Ok, we'll put this on the list of things that need to be done. It might be a couple weeks until you see it and we will be building it around Pligg 1.0 so that we don't have to spend a large amount of time writing documentation to get it working for 9.9.5 installs. Pligg 1 will have some features that make adding in modules without having to edit the templates so much. Thanks for the donations, I'm glad that we will finally be able to have a forum integration option.

From reading the info about the plugin that was created, it seems like its a one way sync instead of an actual bridge. Is there any way it could be used as a bridge? Or maybe a 2 way sync? I would like to be able to have users login via phpbb and be logged in on pligg (share phpbb users with pligg).

I was actually thinking about this some more and was wondering if there would be a way to instead of having a login for pligg, if it would be able to just read the login status of the user from phpbb? I have no idea how the default user info is stored in the db, but this seems like the least intrusive method to me. I really want to use pligg instead of the other wanna be apps out there, but making users login to both sites seems to turn them away.
