    Categories not getting aligned alphabetically

    Though i tried to align categories alphabetically, they never get aligned.

    As my users are getting confused and they write a mail to me asking for properly aligned categories.

    what is the solution for this?

    Sites probably choose not to organize categories alphabetically, for example Cuteaholic.com lists categories based on popularity. You can easily change the category order from the admin category management page, as Chuckroast already mentioned. By default categories organize themselves in the order that you add them.

    If this doesn't answer your question please leave a more specific response so that we can understand your issue.

    As chuckraost and you mentioned i tried it from category management page using the arrow button to move up and down. It moves but it wont stay there alphabetically, as in I have creates Arts, Business, Computers, Communication, etc.,

    Though I put them in order, it never gets aligned, it gets aligned by itself as computer, arts, business, communication.

    I really dont know how to fix this?

    I'm having the same problem.

    I organize them with the arrows but when I go the the site and refresh, they go out of order.

    It's very weird.

    As you click on an arrow to reorganize categories from the Category Manager Admin Panel page it should save the new position. You could try clearing your template cache if the front-end is not updating the category order to match the admin panel order. What happens if you refresh the category management admin page? Does it reset the positions?

    Can we forget the manual ordering thing and make some hack to get categories alphabetically;

    I think what this is a major bug, the one project i'm working on doesn't need alphabetically order and with some repeats of the up-down i got what i wanted, but now that i want alphabetically order it's simply impossible to get with the up-down and this affects 2 more projects i have in mind.
