Unfortunately I'm busy with a number of other things right now, and so won't be installing a copy of 9.6 at any time in the near future. Since a number of you have got 9.6 installed, I'd ask again for someone to go through the libs/login.php file, and play about with the version that comes with 9.6 to make it compatible.

I'm sure the version I posted on the previous page can't be far off, but I'm looking for some of that collaboration that OS communities are so well known for to come through here.

i am willing to pay a bounty of $500 via paypal to have this mod finished and brought up to date (and of course kept in the public domain here) so it works with the latest version of pligg and the latest version of vbulletin

please pm me if you can do this!

I was reading this thread, getting all excited about vB integration, and now my hopes are dashed.

That said, I'll join cgnews and pony up some cash if someone can get this working. Is the issue more a Pligg one, or a vB one? I know a cracker jack vBCoder, but I don't know how familiar he is with Pligg. Depending on the issue, he might be able to figure it out.

If the issue is a Pligg one, is there documentation on the 'problem area' so my coder can take a look at it?

Lastly, I'm unclear as to how the previous working version handled Avatars and profiles.

If a user has a vB avatar, does it show up when they submit to or comment on Pligg items?

What 'profile' is used in integrated sites? the vB profile or the pligg profile?

1.) The issue is only a pligg one. The authentication system for pligg logins changed slightly, so the file libs/login.php has to be updated to account for that. Using the same avatar would not be too much of a problem, but if you wanted to display both vB and pligg info on a single profile page, that would require some more extensive merging of pligg stats into vB member profile pages.

2.) It tackled them by not tackling them. It just unified registrations and logins (for a setup that had pligg and vb in 2 separate databases) - in pligg, you'd see a pligg avatar / profile, in vbulletin a vB avatar / profile.

Try this download package, and please follow all the instructions carefully. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure whether this ever really stopped working, since I've tried the latest pligg authentication login file on my old install, and it worked fine when modified to accept vBulletin cookies.

Try it out, triple check all instructions and tweaks that may be required on your system - pligg table prefix, vbulletin licence number, vbulletin cookie prefix, uncommenting some code from the login file, and the fact that registrations must be routed through vbulletin only. If it doesn't work after all that, then it will be up to someone else with more time (and who uses the latest pligg files) to take this forward.
