pop, will you be putting a small tutorial together as to how you achieved this, please?

If this uses the vBulletin Admin for registration etc then it solves many problems

Thanks in advance

Sounds awesome. please let us know and/or show a demo. I'm sure you already tried renaming/removing members or resetting passwords etc?

hey

no need to reset passwords or rename any user. basically it just populates the pligg user database with the users / salt / pass / and then if there is a bb sessionhash (a vbulletin cookie) then it just gets the info (user id) from the vbulletin cookie. Then just make a login for vbulletin and register, with a redirect after to pligg if thats the source and its done.

I guess even if you have users in your pligg database it should be ok, just that if there are names that overlap there may be an issue...

let me know who needs this and ill pm you the changes

I hired a developer to take on this project, hopefully they get around to working in the next day. The Ashdigg version requires too many modifications. I've seen a simpler method used for an earlier version of Pligg. When I get it developed I will provide the code on pligg.com.

yankidank, will you use the vBulletin admin backend to control the Pligg users?

I believe this solution to be the best with a number of projects I do where I integrate with vb

Thanks

ok great news i will use that version if it uses vbulletin registrations and members database.

As bobdebilder mentions the vbulletin admin backend would be the best

Yes, it would use the vBulletin backend to control users, but you could also modify users via the regular Pligg methods besides the passwords I assume. I can't promise anything at this point, but the old mod was pretty simple. I'm going to close this thread, please open a new one if you have a solution.
