I'm looking for partners to pool together funds for a vbulletin 3.6 pligg 7 bridge.

the bridge should be as simple as possible:

sign up using vbulletin
synch users to pligg
integrated login
no soap or php5 required

I've been with Elance for 5 years and I can direct and test this script. contributors will also be allowed to view the details on elance or scriptlance.

No newbie admins or webmasters please and you must have pligg 7 and vbulletin 3.5.x

Hi Berlin. I like your idea for this bridge. If you are still interested in this idea, or if anyone else is, I would like to co-fund the hiring of a coder from eLance.com to do this project.

Did you already start with your project and what do you think how long it takes to get a first beta out?

I am not a good coder, but willing to pay, if the hack works perfect.

Regards,

Tobi

I'd be willing to put some money into a co-op for phpBB with Pligg 8. Much rather use an open source solution.

So basically all you would need is VB to register users in both VB and in Pligg.

By integrated login are you meaning...it gives you cookies for both VB and Pligg no matter which part you login from?

How much are you willing to pay?

The "problem" is the users vB password, ...

vB saves passwords with some extra hash into its database. Getting existing vB users with their passwords into the Pligg database should be nearly impossible, as they are not simply md5(password) decoded.

Right now, I try to get this here working: http://www.pligg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=400

Myself can give between $25 - $50 for a real working solution, without any big modifications in both softwares core files. Might not be much, but maybe there are some other how also can contribute.

Regards,

Tobi

I think I'm going to go ahead and do this.

It will be for Pligg 8.1 and my version of vBulletin 3.5.4 but it should work with others as well.

You will be able to register with vBulletin AND Pligg.
You will also be able to login with both vBulletin and Pligg.

I will be done with this in 24 hours.

I will also more than likely be doing one for phpBB as well.

Should there be anything added/removed?

Do I need to make it so that it only registers with one or just leave it at both?

Same question for the login.

I think it would be good, if there are both usertables filled in with the informations. Seems to be the easiest way and needs less changes in the corefiles.

For me, I just need login and registration at vB and if a user logs into vB he is also logged in Pligg!

Also there needs to be an importtool for existing vB users, ...

Regards,

Tobi
