Super Newbie here looking for help

I downloaded Pligg onto my computer. I also downloaded WampServer, but the problem is that i am using a vista machine and the tutorials are in XP. I requesting anyone to help me configure pligg and how to load it onto my sever. I am not to savy with computers but i can follow instructions well (if that is a bonus). Please HELP!!!

The differences between XP and Vista are minimal. The only noticeable difference that I know of is how Vista will require you to run WAMP as an administrator. I also noticed on Windows 7 that there are some permission problems if you try to install WAMP under the Program Files folder. By default WAMP does not put itself in that directory, but rather directly in the root of the C: (or whatever main HDD you are using). Default settings for WAMP should work fine, but I have personally only had issues with using WAMP in Windows 7.
