i'm testing a lot of template and found that published news in the first page has been sorted in different way.

some template has been sorted according post day from old -> new, but some template has been sorted not on both published date or vote score so i'm doubt that it has been sorted on what criteria?

In addition, if I would like to change all of them to be sorted from date new -> old, is it possible? I'm looking the coding from each template, it looks totally different.
