    Problems with RSS Importer Module

    Hello Everyone,

I am trying to add 'New Field Link' as required for RSS Importer Module when I get following Error Messages:

"Warning: MagpieRSS: Failed to parse RSS file. (mismatched tag at line 36, column 77) in ../../mydomain.com/my-folder/modules/rss_import/magpierss/rss_fetch.inc on line 238"

    AND

"Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ../../mydomain.com/my-folder/modules/rss_import/rss_import_main.php on line 363"

It also does not allow me to enter any value for 'feed field name'

Can any one please suggest me the way out?!?

    Thanks and Regards

    RDK

I do not think there is any help available for this here

Any chance to get a link to download the latest version of RSS Importer which I can try and install again?

    Thanks for the help

You can download it here. We no longer provide support for it though but I'll help point you in the right direction.
The problem you are having is due to the feed url you're using. Failed to parse RSS file means that the feed is not properly formatted from the 3rd party site. You can try to run the feed through something like yahoo pipes or rssmix to clean up the feed a little bit.

    Hello Everyone,

I have a small question, if someone can help

I can now import RSS feeds into my site, however when someone clicks on Title / link for the story, the story actually opens in new window.

I wish that the story should appear in the page body, same as regular stories published on the site would appear. Is there a way we can do this using 'iframe' or something

I will be happy to get your feedback / ideas or preferably code

    Thanks

This is not caused by rss importer module, it's caused by a setting you changed in the admin panel. To fix it go to:
Admin > Configure> Story> Use Story Title as External Link > Set to False

    Hello Chuckroast,

    Thanks for the quick response.

However when I change this setting, only the summery for the story, which is imported, is available and full contents are not available and sometimes it only shows title of the story.

I would prefer to show full imported story, if possible on my site only and hence I think if the original story page can be opened completely keeping header of my site intact, or if the story page can be opened in main page body using iframe it would be better. This way the users are not required to leave our site and they can still read the full story

If you can suggest the code changes that would be great

    Best Regards
