Re: version 9.9.5

Is there any way to change/configure the voting feature so it would only count and display number of the clicks on the story (without the need for the visitor to log in)? The comments are disabled.

In other words, I’d like to limit the interaction with the guest visitors and only count and display how many times the story was read. The story submitting would be available only to the selected, controlled group of users.
Thank you.

Install page views snippet so you will know how many times each story has been viewed.

Not sure what rubber meant by his answer, but you would want to build a custom php query in your link_summary.tpl template ( ex. {php} php code here {/php} ) to fetch the number of story out clicks. There's a field stored in pligg_links (the table where story data is stored) called link_out. When you use the outgoing method for urls every click on the url results in +1 to that field for the story. If you can't figure it out I might try templating it myself as a tutorial post on the Pligg blog in the future.

This would be great Yank.
I think there a lot of folks who don't have a high number of registered users to really make the voting system functional for their site. Displaying number of clicks per story would be more beneficial for them.

Thanks in advance

This has been done. You might want to check out both.

Chuck, the way that out works with 1.0 is different from earlier beta releases so I'm not sure if the old guides would apply.

Well since the original poster was asking for Pligg Beta 9.9.5 I figured I would reply with search results that applied to Pligg Beta 9.9.5

Sorry I don't have the time to customize other people's sites for free.
I would recommend reading the posts and attempting it yourself or hiring it out to someone.
