uncustomizable language in xmlhttp.js, xmlhttp.php
On line 157 and 163 in xmlhttp.js 160 and 166 on xmlhttp.php
target2.innerHTML = "<span>voted</span> ";
Also looks like one of these files is extraneous, perhaps xmlhttp.js was turned into xmlhttp.php so that it would be possible to fix dynamic things like these, but the writer got bored midway

Yeah I was JUST working on my new template 2 days ago and thought I was going nutts or somethign b/c the voted text kept display even though in link_summary I had changed the else to different text. I know the code pretty well but this stumped me for hours before I figured it out.

I've been looking for the answer to this problem for a week and I just figured it out in the code and then I just happened to stumble upon this in the forum. Go figure. Thanks.
