is there any difference between root and subfolder

hai i have installed my pligg inside the subfolder , rite now am in a dilemma that can i change my pligg from subfolder to root folder.

so can any one tell me , is there any drawback that having pligg in a subfolder ( like seo problems , or other kind of difficulties) iam running the site for more than one year in the subfolder . so if i change the pligg directory to root folder ,it will leads to any problem??

Moving the site around is pretty simple.
After you've moved all the files. Just edit settings.php to remove the subfolder. Then log in at admin and go to Admin panel> configure > location installed > and make sure the information in there is correct. If you are using an .htaccess file, you want to edit the new location in there as well..

@chuckroast bro thanks for the info , but thats not my question actualy ,
i just want to know that is there any drawbacks to have in pligg in subfolder ,
or is there any advantage or result in more traffic if my pligg is in the root folder......
